The good news is that it is usually a very simple fix.
Make sure you have your air conditioner set to cool mode ( the icicle icon) . We find many people have accidentally changed the mode to heat ( the sun icon). Which is great in winter but not for summer. A simple fix that will save you time and money before calling out an expert.
